Having worked hard to earn your degree you may be offered a job to work in a country outside of the UK. Employers and visa departments will probably ask for you to get an apostille on your degree certificate.

Original or Copy?
We can legalise either the original document or make a photocopy and attach the apostille to the copy. Many countries will accept a certified copy of your document. However, we do recommend you check if a copy will be accepted by the organisation asking you to get your document legalised. Some countries are now requesting original documents have the apostille.
Please indicate on the order form if you would like us to ‘APOSTILLE THE ORIGINAL’ or ‘APOSTILLE A COPY’ of the certificate.

UK birth certificates can only be issued with the apostille on the original certificate or an official replacement provided by the government. We cannot process copies or email scans.
When the document has been checked and signature or stamp confirmed, the apostille is attached to the back of the document.

If the document was issued electronically the document can be emailed to us and this will be certified as a copy.

Medical notes and medical documents need to be signed by a doctor that is registered with the General Medical Council. The apostille is then be issued to the original document to verify this signature.
The FCDO specify that they can process a solicitor certified copy of this document however this is not recommended and can cause issues when presenting the document overseas.

Potential employers or visa authorities may ask you to prove you have no criminal history or that any history you may have falls within their suitability requirements.

* If your criminal background check has not been signed by the issuing organisation your document will require solicitor certification. The fee for the solicitor certification and apostille is £66.00. If you are unsure please contact us for advice.

Criminal Record documents have the apostille issued directly on the original document we cannot certify copies. You may find that your document has to be issued within the last 6 months to be valid.
Where can you obtain a criminal record check?
There are many agencies that can issue a criminal record. You will need to contact one of these agencies directly to obtain this document. Examples of these agencies include Disclosure Scotland, NPCC and ACPO.
