Which apostille service do you need?

Apostille Only
Your documents need only the apostille.
Apostille with Solicitor Certification
For documents that need to be signed a solicitor before the apostille can be added.
Documents must be signed or sealed by an authority.
To add the apostille to a UK document it ‘must’ be signed, stamped or sealed by a recognised authority. Government documents bear the signature or stamp of the relevant office. Other public officials can sign documents including notaries, solicitors, police officers, doctors and vets.
We can advise on whether you need our solicitor and apostille service, or you can review the document lists below.

Expert Legalisation
The first thing we do is check that your document is suitable for the apostille certificate. Not all documents are presented in the same way. Your document may need to be certified by a solicitor or an official certified copy may need to be created. Other documents must be original versions and copies are not acceptable. We will provide you with clear advice for your circumstances and assist you in obtaining correct documentation where necessary. We can also arrange for our solicitor to certify your documents, to save you both time and money.
Having checked your documents, and certified them if required, we will personally attend the Foreign Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) to arrange for the apostille to be issued. Whilst your documents are in our possession, we will ensure that they are handled with the care and attention they deserve.
We guarantee to have the apostille certificate issued or, in the unlikely event that this is not possible, a full refund is always provided.
Once the apostille has been attached to your document we will return them to you by first class post at no extra charge. Alternatively you can order secure courier delivery, international airmail, or international courier.

Academic Document Set
Business Documents
If you have a degree certificate and transcript, producing a bound set of documents will save you money. The same applies if you have several academic documents in one persons name.
Company documents are frequently legalised as one set. We can download company documents from Companies House and produce one set of documents under one apostille.
Bound sets are accepted in many countries. However, we recommend that you check this will be suitable for your circumstances. We cannot guarantee sets of documents are suitable for all purposes.
Government issued documents should not be bound as a set. This includes birth, marriage and death certificates, criminal record checks, court papers and many of the document listed under our ‘apostille only’ standard service.

Some countries are not members of the ‘Hague Convention’. This means that as well as the Apostille stamp being required for your documents, further embassy attestation stamps are also necessary to satisfy the requirements of the overseas authorities. If your documents are for use in a Country that are not included within the Hague Member list then they will also require embassy stamps. As well as providing the Apostille service, we also deal with many of the necessary embassies across the UK that are not members of the Hague Convention and can have the relevant stamps issued for you.
While the apostille itself doesn’t expire, the document it authenticates may not be accepted if considered “old” by the receiving country (e.g. Criminal record background checks). Some countries may request the apostille has been issued recently (e.g. China ask for 90 days). Check with the respective authority to see if there’s a time limit.
If the country you need to use the document in isn’t a member, you might need a different kind of authentication known as embassy or consular legalisation.
In some cases we can arrange for a UK apostille to be issued but it will depend on your document. If you have any doubts we recommend that you speak to your country’s embassy or consulate for more advice.
It is important that you understand we issue UK apostilles on UK documents. If you send us a non UK document and we are able to process your document it will be issued with a UK apostille. You should check if this is suitable in the country where your document is to be presented.
Nearly all UK documents can be issued with the apostille certificate. There are a few exceptions that include home office documents that are for use within the UK only. We will let you know immediately if your document cannot be legalised and provide a full refund for our service.
We do not issue apostilles on ‘purchased online’ degrees or false documents. We are a reputable legalisation service. We are pleased to issue the apostille on genuine qualifications but we do not support any individual or online retailer deliberately trying to mislead prospective employers. Sorry, but we have a reputation to maintain.
We do not add the apostille to company documents that ‘claim’ to offer degree level education.
If you have a document that was issued in a country that is a member of The Hague Convention and it is being presented in another country that is a member of The Hague Convention, then it is likely that you will need an apostille. If you have been asked to get an apostille then your document may not be accepted without one. You can find a list of Hague Countries that issues and request apostilles on our website.
