How Do We Help?

document legalisation service

Simple document legalisation

Obtaining an apostille is difficult enough for UK residents. Living overseas can make this more complicated as you cannot easily contact the government for advice, and visiting solicitors and embassies is impossible.

If you need an apostille on your UK document, trying to obtain this yourself will be expensive if you are not in the UK. Consider the cost of flights, taxis, hotels, paying for solicitors, and waiting to get the apostille from the FCDO. Make a mistake and you will incur extra costs.

We make apostilles simple. Order online and send us your document. We issue the apostille and send your document back to you. It is that easy!

Any genuine UK document can be issued with the apostille. In fact, we guarantee to issue the apostille or refund the fee.

If you have a degree certificate and transcript, producing a bound set of documents will save you money. The same applies if you have several academic documents in one persons name.

Company documents are frequently legalised as one set. We can download company documents from Companies House and produce one set of documents under one apostille.

Bound sets are accepted in many countries. However, we recommend that you check this will be suitable for your circumstances. We cannot guarantee sets of documents are suitable for all purposes.

Government issued documents should not be bound as a set. This includes birth, marriage and death certificates, criminal record checks, court papers and many of the document listed under our ‘apostille only’ standard service.

Why do some documents need embassy attestation?2025-10-27T15:58:02+00:00

Some countries are not members of the ‘Hague Convention’. This means that as well as the Apostille stamp being required for your documents, further embassy attestation stamps are also necessary to satisfy the requirements of the overseas authorities. If your documents are for use in a Country that are not included within the Hague Member list then they will also require embassy stamps. As well as providing the Apostille service, we also deal with many of the necessary embassies across the UK that are not members of the Hague Convention and can have the relevant stamps issued for you.

Will the apostille be valid indefinitely?2025-10-27T15:57:16+00:00

While the apostille itself doesn’t expire, the document it authenticates may not be accepted if considered “old” by the receiving country (e.g. Criminal record background checks). Some countries may request the apostille has been issued recently (e.g. China ask for 90 days). Check with the respective authority to see if there’s a time limit.

What if my country isn’t part of the Hague Convention?2025-10-27T15:56:37+00:00

If the country you need to use the document in isn’t a member, you might need a different kind of authentication known as embassy or consular legalisation.

What if my document originates from a country that is not a member of The Hague Convention?2025-06-26T13:54:37+00:00

In some cases we can arrange for a UK apostille to be issued but it will depend on your document. If you have any doubts we recommend that you speak to your country’s embassy or consulate for more advice.

It is important that you understand we issue UK apostilles on UK documents. If you send us a non UK document and we are able to process your document it will be issued with a UK apostille. You should check if this is suitable in the country where your document is to be presented.

Can all documents be issued with an apostille?2025-06-26T13:52:34+00:00

Nearly all UK documents can be issued with the apostille certificate. There are a few exceptions that include home office documents that are for use within the UK only. We will let you know immediately if your document cannot be legalised and provide a full refund for our service.

We do not issue apostilles on ‘purchased online’ degrees or false documents. We are a reputable legalisation service. We are pleased to issue the apostille on genuine qualifications but we do not support any individual or online retailer deliberately trying to mislead prospective employers. Sorry, but we have a reputation to maintain.

We do not add the apostille to company documents that ‘claim’ to offer degree level education.

When do I need an apostille?2025-06-26T13:48:34+00:00

If you have a document that was issued in a country that is a member of The Hague Convention and it is being presented in another country that is a member of The Hague Convention, then it is likely that you will need an apostille. If you have been asked to get an apostille then your document may not be accepted without one. You can find a list of Hague Countries that issues and request apostilles on our website.
