Apostille on Medical Notes – Expediting the Process

We are seeing an increased number of medical notes for legalisation. Unfortunately, many doctors are not stored on the government’s records. The Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) keep records of signatures for documents being submitted overseas.

Most documents are legalised in just 1 to 2 days. When a signature needs further verification, this delays the process while the signature is checked.

How can you help?

To expedite the processing of your medical note you can ask the doctor to contact the FCDO directly. The following is from the FCDO –

Customers can request their medical practitioner to contact our signature verification team at Your.BusinessApplication@fcdo.gov.uk with a sample of their signature on headed paper, providing their registration number, registered name, capacity and permission to store the signature on our database. We could then upload this to our database in advance of documents arriving.

If you can provide this information to your doctor it will assist with completing the apostille service for you. When you know your doctor has sent this information to the FCDO, please inform us so we can resubmit the document for the apostille.
