Timelines vary depending on the embassy. Some embassies process documents in just a few working days, while others may take a two to three weeks. Our service includes guidance on current embassy turnaround times. These are provided as a guide based on our experience. They are not an exact time frame as the embassies can vary processing times if they are busy.
What can change processing times?
Peak periods – The summer is very busy for document legalisation. With embassy staff on annual leave and increased numbers of documents being processed, we can see processing times extending.
Religious festivals – Embassies close during some religious festivals (e.g. Christmas, Ramadan).
Changes to embassy rules – It is not unheard of for embassies to change document rules, embassy attestation prices and even the format of the attestation with no prior warning.
