apostille service coronavirus covid-19 update

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information and Updates

Updated: 03/04/2020 - APOSTILLE SERVICE OPEN!

We are issuing the apostille on all UK documents!

Following a brief period of suspended services the Hague Apostille Service is getting ready to resume apostille services from Tuesday 7 April. Any backlog of orders is being cleared and we look forward to completing all new orders as quickly as possible.

Hague Apostille is a recognised UK Apostille Service with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (Gov.uk) for the legalisation of documents. We have priority access to the FCO as a registered business service. This enables us to provide a quick 1-2 day processing (subject to the FCO limits at this time)

The Hague Apostille Service has worked hard over the last few weeks to ensure we have procedures in place to maintain apostille services and embassy attestation for our customers and to protect the welfare of our employees during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

Apostille Orders

Normal apostille service is available. There may be slight delays as the FCO is limiting the number of documents that can be legalised.

Embassy Attestation

Embassy Attestation is operating but some services are limited. Many embassies are operating reduced hours. The Saudi, Qatari and Chinese Embassies are currently NOT attesting documents.

We will be clearing all outstanding orders as soon as possible and dispatching these to customers. New embassy orders will be processed as quickly as possible but completion times will vary.

Updated: 24/03/2020 - ISSUING APOSTILLE CERTIFICATES HAS BEEN SUSPENDED FOR THE ENTIRE UK

We have been informed by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office they have suspended all apostille services. It is now IMPOSSIBLE to get an apostille anywhere in the UK until further notice. Unfortunately, the closure of the Legalisation Office at the FCO is beyond our control and all services are now adhering to government guidelines.

The Hague Apostille Service has worked hard over the last few weeks to ensure we have procedures in place to maintain apostille services and embassy attestation for our customers and to protect the welfare of our employees during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. Following the government announcement on 24th March the team at Hague Apostille are now working remotely from home to answer emails and phone calls.

If your order is 'in progress' and awaiting an apostille certificate it will be completed when the government legalisation office reopens. Embassy orders will be dispatched when they are returned to us by the embassy concerned. Some embassies are now closed or operating reduced services and hours. Your understanding during these unprecedented times is appreciated.

Apostille Orders

NO APOSTILLES CAN BE ISSUED until further notice.

Embassy Attestation

NO EMBASSY ATTESTATION until further notice. Embassy Legalisation can only be completed AFTER the apostille is attached. NO APOSTILLE means NO EMBASSY ATTESTATION!

It is now IMPOSSIBLE to get any embassy legalisation completed until further notice. We will be clearing all outstanding orders as soon as possible and dispatching these to customers.

MESSAGE FROM THE FCO 24/03/2020 -

What are exceptional circumstances?

The FCO urgent legalisation service is being managed primarily by FCO staff working from home, who are responding to all enquiries sent to urgentlegalisation@fco.gov.uk and establishing if a document requires an apostille urgently. The criteria for this is under daily review pending staffing availability within the FCO and analysis of the patterns of requests received. At present, the legalisation office is accepting any document that is required in order to facilitate repatriation, urgent travel to prevent deportation/arrest or to abide by government orders, and trade documents specifically relating to medical supplies. As they cannot guarantee a consistent service through this channel, they are prioritising documents that will assist those who are most vulnerable.

This is a link to the letter for customers to use with receiving authorities for urgent documentation whilst the Legalisation Office is temporarily unable to provide physical apostilles.

Office Visits to Hague Apostille

For the foreseeable future, we are asking that customers do not visit our office. We are happy to assist by phone, email, online chat, online orders and postal applications. It is essential we manage the offices safely to protect our customers and employees.

Updates

If there is any change to the current situation we will update this page with the latest situation on processing orders. Please be assured that we have robust systems in place to manage any events and to ensure we can still support our customers during the current period.

Thank you for choosing our service.
