Getting Married in Cyprus - Apostille Service
More people are looking overseas for potential wedding venues. We are seeing an increase in the number of people planning a wedding in Cyprus. This normally requires both the bride and groom to present legal documents to the authorities.
Typically, you need a Certificate of no Impediment to get married abroad. However, these are not issued for marriages in Commonwealth countries, such as Cyprus. There are alternative documents that may be suitable to prove you are single. The most common being the statutory declaration.
We can’t specifically tell you what documentation to have legalised with an apostille. In our experience, the majority of our customers getting married overseas have a variation of the documents listed below;
- Statutory Declaration for each person
- Birth Certificates
- Decree Absolutes (if applicable)
- Previous Marriage Certificates (if applicable)
If you aren’t sure what is required, please ask the person or authority requesting the documentation, and they should tell you what you need. If you have a wedding planner they can let you know what documents require legalisation.

Once you have obtained all the documentation you need to get married, you can post the documents to us for legalisation with the apostille.

We also offer discounted rates for larger orders. If you have 3 or more documents then you can find the discounted rates here.
Some of your documents may need solicitor certification for a further £12.00 per document. If you are unsure, please contact us and we will advise you accordingly. Please note, we cannot provide solicitor certification on all documents, but we will let you know if you need to have something pre-certified.
