Spanish Visa

In a previous article we outlined what documents are typically needed when applying for a Spanish Visa. A common document required for this purpose is a marriage certificate. Unusually, the Spanish authorities insist on the document being issued within the last 3 months as evidence the persons are still married. We understand this does not actually prove the persons are still married but advise following the guidance provided by the Spanish authorities to prevent any delays with the visa application.

After much anticipation, the Digital Nomad Visa has finally been introduced in Spain. This new type of visa is aimed at attracting ‘high-value’ professionals to the country by offering considerable tax advantages to entrepreneurs, workers, start-ups and investors alike.

Non-EU nationals who intend to live in Spain whilst working remotely for non-Spanish companies can apply for this new type of visa. It is also available for self-employed freelancers with multiple international clients.

Since the 14th of March, diplomatic staff at the Spanish embassies and consulates have been on strike nationwide in the UK. Unfortunately, there is no end in sight any time soon for this indefinite strike. The embassy and consulate staff are striking to protest against a 14 year wage freeze imposed by Spanish Ministers. This is understandable considering the significant cost of living increases throughout the UK.
